• If the installation the CodeMeter Runtime process appears stuck or unresponsive, run the installer again.

Communication Port Details

• Configure Control Buddy to use the legacy port 3040, which is essential for identifying whether it is connected to WATCHOUT® 6 or WATCHOUT® 7.
• If WATCHOUT® 7 is detected, Control Buddy automatically switches internally to use the WATCHOUT® 7 protocol, ensuring seamless communication and compatibility with both versions. Starting with port 3040 ensures efficient identification and protocol management.
